Do your demo accounts have any limits? Yes, you can only send out campaigns to a maximum of 10 users at a time.  We also limit our demo accounts to a 60 day trial period before we deactivate them.

Am I charged by the number of email addresses in my account or the number of emails I send?
You are charged by the number of emails you actually send. You can send as many emails as you want up to your plan level in as many different campaigns as you want in a month, and you only pay your monthly plan rate. If you exceed your plan email limit, you can either pay $0.02 per email for the overage or upgrade your account to the next level. You are never penalized for having many emails even if you aren't sending to all those addresses all the time.

Is there a limit to how many groups I can have to organize my addresses?
No, there is no limit to the number of groups or number of searches that you can have. And one email address can be a member of several different groups. 

If I have many different groups, how can I get new signups to appear in the right groups? 
If you sign-up for automatic collection from your website, you can either pre-select which groups to put people in, or even allow them to select their area or group of interest which will put them in the proper group(s). 

What's the difference between a standard and a custom template? 
A standard template will consist of only a basic header and footer to your email and most likely will have only a single link to your website homepage. A custom template can be designed any way you like to match your website directly or be totally different. It can have deeper links into sub-sections of your website and even include active links outside of a header and footer area. We would be happy to show you examples if you are interested. 

I've got thousands and thousands of emails, how easy is it to get all of these into Lightning Email? 
It's very simple. We have an import feature that allows you to import any number of lists of any length directly from Microsoft Excel. You can also add emails manually one at a time if you wish. 

I don't have a website or can't change my website to have a sign-up form, how can I have users sign-up for my mail list? 
You can create a custom sign-up form that can be a link in your website or even your email signature. This link can open the sign-up form in its own window. You can also embed the sign-up for in an iframe if you choose. 

I might have a lot of bad emails, I'm not sure. Do I have to keep paying for those emails to be sent over and over? 
No way. Lightning Email automatically marks incorrectly formatted email addresses as errors, as well as any emails that get a response of not existing from the destination mail server. Even addresses that exist but bounce after 3 consecutive sends are weeded out. All three of these groups are not emailed on future campaigns so you don't pay for them indefinitely. 

I want to track a lot of information about my list members and include some of this in my campaigns, can I do that? 
Yes, absolutely. By default your account tracks email address, first and last names, but you can change to track all standard demographic details like address, city, state, phone, etc. If you have a special field you want included to help segment your lists, we can do that too. We'll add up to 5 additional fields for free, just give us a call. Additional fields beyond that may incur a small monthly charge. 

I've got lots of images I want to reuse in my campaigns over time, is that possible? And, what about documents like PDF's? 
Yes, your account includes an image library with unlimited storage. You should clean it up from time to time to help keep it manageable, but otherwise there are no limits. You also have a document library that is limited to 2 Megabytes of storage with additional fees for more storage space. And you can always link to documents on your own website if you'd prefer. 

I want to have lots of different templates to send to different various groups, is that possible? 
Sure thing, we can create as many custom template as you want. 

We know HTML like the back of our hand, can we just create our entire email campaign from scratch ourselves without using any templates? 
Absolutely. There is a blank slate template that allows you to load in your own HTML from scratch, giving you complete control. 

I don't really know HTML at all, and don't want to. I know you can create a template for me, but how can I have a nicely formatted content area for my email's message? 
Aside from a starting template, you also have the ability to choose a layout for your email. The layout is the content area of your email that is framed by your template. We have about 40 different layouts to choose from, ranging from simple to basic newsletter-formatted, to advanced layouts. We can even create a custom layout for you for a small additional fee. 

How do I know my emails are going to look good before sending? 
Lightning Email includes a proof view so that you can see how the email will look when sent. You can also send test emails to yourself or any number of people that you want, and once you have everything looking perfect, then send your complete campaign to your selected lists. 

How do I know my email campaigns are successful? 
Our Response section, is one of the strongest features of Lightning Email. It shows you complete stats about your campaign including emails sent, emails received, number of emails opened, number of click-throughs, forwards, opt-outs, even which links were clicked. For any of these stats you can even drill down further and see the exact emails that fell into each category. A really great scenario is the ability to save one of these groups as a search that you can target with a later campaign. For example, you can save all of the emails that clicked a certain link as a search and maybe that link was to a certain product or service you offer. You could then send them an email maybe a week or two later that has a coupon or special offer for that product or service as a thank your for their interest and to help you convert those people into increased business for your company.
